This year Scotland is celebrating 250 years since the birth of our national bard Robert Burns. The man who wrote Auld Lang Syne (no it wasn't Billy Joel, he just borrows it at New Year).
I have even heard (not 100% sure how accurate this is) that Mr Joel has occasionally been known to use the name Robert Burns as a pseudonym.

The year of Homecoming will also celebrate all that Scotland has contributed to the world in the arts, culture and sport.
So anyone visiting Scotland this year, especially Edinburgh and Ayrshire (where Burns was born) is in for a special treat as there are events happening all year.

If there are any other Scots out there reading this please post and we can make our own tribute to Scotland.
If you are not Scottish, but would just like to join in please feel free to post if you appreciate all things Scottish.

Bye the now

Jools
