I thought it was great to see that Billy attended the Oyster Bay board meeting the other night and threw his support behind the Blueway Trail which will hopefully bring more awareness to paddling opportunities and beach access locations.

In these tough economic times, many people are looking for an outlet to enjoy the outdoors, and we are fortunate on Long Island, New York to have beautiful waterways and beaches. Unfortunately, they are sometimes underutilized or use is restricted to certain user groups, whereas all user groups should have equal access.

Thank you again Billy for your support.

Equal access sounds good. like why surfers arent allowed to drive the ocean beaches to find surf, but people w 4wd permits for fishing can go picnicing wherever they want, more or less. $134K sounds absurd, a college student could put together a map for free! that money could be much better spent on actually developing access locations!!

not sure of how much the bluetrail seeks to cover, but how wonderful would it be to BICYCLE run or blade along Ocean Parkway along the Ocean. as of now, it's a nice parallel rush hour highway for those who live on the south shore, but it's wasted if people cant slow down, walk ride run blade etc and enjoy the view!!
