Got a Tear in My Eye When He Played Allentown in Cleveland
Having grown up in Bethlehem, "Allentown" has always had special meaning for me. It's amazing how the lyrics accurately capture our reality of living there in the halcyon days of a prosperous postwar Lehigh Valley. It likewise captured our feelings as the local industry dried up, culminating in the closing of Bethlehem Steel in 2003. My 5 siblings and I all moved away, never to return. Yes, it did get very hard to stay. BTW, the stage graphics were awesome.
